Emergency Eye Care

Sight lost to a delayed emergency often cannot be recovered. If you have any of the signs below, call us now and come straight to the clinic.
Come immediately if you have
Sudden Vision Loss
Vision that disappears in one or both eyes, even briefly, is an emergency. Come immediately.
Eye Injury or Trauma
A blow, scratch, or anything that has entered the eye. Do not rub or rinse with anything but clean water.
Chemical Splash or Burn
Rinse with clean running water for 15 minutes on the way, then come to the clinic at once.
Bleeding In or Around the Eye
Blood inside the eye or heavy bleeding on the lids requires urgent assessment.
Severe Eye Pain
Intense pain with a red eye, nausea or halos around lights can be acute glaucoma.
Flashes, Floaters or a Curtain
A shower of new floaters, flashing lights or a shadow across your vision can mean a detaching retina.
While you are on the way

- • Do not remove anything stuck in the eye yourself.

- • Do not apply traditional remedies, oils or breast milk to the eye.
